Rockliffe Press Release

Rockliffe announces MailSite SP-c Version 5 for Service Providers

Major enhancements include virus scanning, full clustering and personal calendaring

Rockliffe, the developer of e-mail and messaging infrastructure software for service providers and corporations, announced at ISPCON Europe, the immediate release of MailSite SP-c version 5 for service providers. Rockliffe MailSite SP-c has many new revenue-generating features and benefits, such as integrated virus scanning, security enhancements and full clustering.

Virus Scanning - Rockliffe has tightly integrated the F-Secure real-time virus scanner into MailSite SP-c that will detect and block viruses in all incoming and outgoing messages. With the new anti-virus subscription service, MailSite SP-c will automatically download updated virus definition files so that new viruses will be detected as soon as they appear. Rockliffe and F-Secure have worked together to optimise the performance of the virus scanner for service providers so that MailSite can scan high volumes of e-mail without significant additional overhead.

Security - Rockliffe MailSite SP-c offers new Sieve-based content filters at the domain and mailbox levels. These filters allow domain administrators and individual users to filter incoming messages based on their own criteria. A new denial-of-service feature prevents hackers from attempting to overload the SMTP service.

Full Clustering - Rockliffe has extended the clustering capability in MailSite SP-c so that all system-wide configuration and mailbox settings can be centralised on one SQL server cluster. This means that customers can configure multiple MailSite Application Server nodes that are completely data-less and fully redundant.

Personal Calendaring - MailSite SP-c comes bundled with MailSite Express, a full-featured web messaging e-mail client. Rockliffe has enhanced MailSite Express version 5 to include web-based calendaring, tasks, and notes so users can manage their personal information in one place, and access it from anywhere on the Internet.

Other Improvements - Rockliffe has developed additional features to meet the needs of service providers, including mailbox-level alias addresses, the ability to insert banners in all incoming and outgoing mail, and utilities to remove unused mailboxes and old messages.

Prices for single-server MailSite SP-s licenses start at $4,995 with clustered MailSite SP-c licenses starting at $19,995. For more information, contact Rockliffe sales at www.rockliffe.com.

"We chose MailSite based on the needs of our customers, developers, operations staff and on simple economics," says Sondre Mjøen, product manager at Active ISP, which currently hosts almost a quarter of million mailboxes on MailSite. "The demand on the product was that it was standards-based and that it had very high availability. We also had to be sure that the developer would continue to improve the product - it had a to be easily adaptable to our changing needs over time."

"With the new anti-virus and security features in MailSite SP-c, our customers can boost revenues by offering value-added services to their subscribers," said John Davies, president and CEO of Rockliffe. Davies continued, saying, "furthermore, the improved clustering and scalability makes it possible for customers to add subscribers without growing their infrastructure. The new features offered in MailSite SP-c almost make e-mail sexy."
