Rockliffe Press Release

Rockliffe MailSite selected by Encyclopędia Britannica For Anti-Spam and
Anti-Virus Solution

Email firewall lowers operational and administrative costs

Campbell, CA -March 18, 2004 - Rockliffe, Inc., a developer of email server and secure email software for enterprises, service providers and small businesses, today announced that Encyclopędia Britannica, Inc. has implemented Rockliffe MailSite as an email firewall to protect its Microsoft Exchange servers and employees from security threats such as viruses and spam.

After a three month evaluation that included a wide range of anti-spam and anti-virus products as well as outsourced message filtering services, Britannica chose Rockliffe MailSite as the solution best able to meet its objectives of stability, protection, and cost effectiveness.

Rockliffe MailSite provides an increased level of perimeter protection for Britannica by providing spam, virus, and Directory Harvest Attack protection before these activities can take their toll in the Microsoft Exchange environment. By deploying Rockliffe MailSite at the gateway Britannica achieved its goal of introducing powerful, cost effective, and low overhead protection into its email server infrastructure, while maintaining system performance and reducing overhead and bandwidth for its Microsoft Exchange servers.

"We have been very pleased with the performance of MailSite," said James Glenski, director of IT at Encyclopędia Britannica. "The January outbreak of the MyDoom virus was one of the fastest-spreading email worms in history, but by offloading the primary virus protection to MailSite, we experienced no sluggishness or impact to our Exchange performance. While MyDoom was busy clogging email servers around the world, our users did not feel a thing."

"We are delighted that a highly respected organization like Britannica has selected MailSite after such a rigorous testing process," said John Davies, Rockliffe President and CEO. "We are looking forward to helping Britannica protect its network and employees from current and future email threats."
